Kyle enters the spares shop expecting to see usual owner, instead he's met by a fat, venomous, little man who stares daggers at him. "What you looking for?" He barks at Kyle. "Something for the weekend?" Kyle replies, his eyes fixed into the store owners. After he looks Kyle up and down a few times, the fat man pushes a button under the counter, opening a hidden door next to the counter. Inside is a small cache of black market goods. Kyle sees what he wants immediately! "How much for the droid?" He asks. "1000!" The shop owner replies a bit to quickly. "I'll give you 500!" The shop owner scoffs, "800 and your robbing me!" "700 and I don't report the fact your selling me New Athen's Government property! " The shop owner thought it over before nodding and looking angry. Kyle desided to swipe his card quickly over the pay point, tipped the little red face fatty and left. The purchase would be delivered to his apartment.
Kyle raised his goggles, it wasn't excellent but it he had done the best he could. Following the blueprints, Kyle had made a press for creating shotgun shells and a larger than usual revolver. In place of six chambers, it had three larger ones. Kyle knew that there were more machines in New Athens than people and so he'd packed the shells with magnesium filings topped with a big ball bearing. He loaded the weapon with shaking hands, snapped it shut and span the loaded chambers. Where would he begin to look for a 'dinosaur'?

Khan yawned as he listened to the human inside drone on. During the day Khan had next to nothing to do, he couldn't allow himself to be seen in public, battling other digimon in broad daylight would risk being seen and without Terry he would easily get lost in the city. So to bide time Khan would occasionally follow Terry to school and listen in to classes from trees nearby to open windows. Besides asking Terry about specific concepts this was Khan's only way to learn about information from this world. The human text was massively different from the digital world runes he was used to and so he could not access information from the internet easily or read maps or signs to travel around.
Khan had lost interest in what the teacher was saying and instead watched two students in the back of the room battling V-pets. Now this was something that fascinated Khan, mere children could raise warriors beyond his own power back in the digital world in a matter of weeks. But to do what with? Play with them until they got bored and destroyed the warrior to create a new one. Khan felt disgusted by it but at the same time curious. He planned on obtaining one at his first chance and using it to kill time in between his hunting sessions with Terry.
"Speaking of which," Khan thought to himself twitching his tail which lazily hung over the branch he sat on "Terry should be out of this place soon." It was a Friday and Terry had agreed with Khan to go on another digimon hunt despite still being tired from the last. Terry had told Khan that he had a theory about the missing hazardous garbage from the records they had found. The way Terry had explained was that some waste like explosives or acids could not be incinerated or recycled like most garbage in New Athens, so it made sense that those instead would be dumped on the outside of New Athens. The place they were going, an abandoned battery factory, might still have records on where the hazardous waste had been dumped. Thus finding a way out. If not then there would probably be a few digimon holing out there at least.
The bell rang and Khan watched the front entrance until he saw Terry's bright red head of hair. Once he was sure no one was watching Khan jumped to the ground and dashed to a nearby building with a fire escape. Khan climbed up and from atop the roof he could move around much more easily, plus he had memorized the route to and from Terry's house. The two would arrive back at about the same time and as soon as it was dark and Terry's mother was asleep the two would head out.

For the first time ever, Daniel considered calling out sick. He felt like he had to take care of the machine. No, this was preposterous! Why was he acting this way? Daniel decided to make an appointment with his therapist asap. He must've been over-stressed. Why else would he grow so attached to a children's toy?
Daniel was about to leave the v-pet and get to work, when he saw a small white shape dart past the kitchen an into his room. There were almost no wild animals in New Athens, Daniel thought. Was it a rouge robot? He would have to call the police. No doubt he'd be late now. He sighed. He picked up his new cell phone to call the school, but it wouldn't turn on. He swore he just charged it. What was going on? Surely he wasn't-
"Come find me," something called from the bedroom. It's was a young child's voice. A girl's voice. Was this someone's idea of a joke?
"No, I demand you come out here at once. I have things to do! No time for shenanigans like this," Daniel called out, his voice wavering. Tardy. He would be tardy!
"... FINE!" The voice screamed. The door opened slowly. A small white creature poked its head through. Daniel dropped his phone and slipped down to the floor shock.
"Are you? It can't be... but you're" Daniel continued to try to say something for another minute, but the white creature grew bored and ran out of the room and right onto Daniel's chest. It was so... fluffy. And light. It was like a small dog or rabbit, or at least, it seemed similar to what he had heard of them.
"Right! I'm Terriermon! Your digimon partner!" The little creature smiled and wagged it's head, causing its large ears to flop back and forth. It was almost, dare Daniel think it, cute!
"Look, um... Terriermon. Are you... do you want money?" It was definitely the creature he had raised of his v-pet, Daniel thought. But how was this even possible.
Terriermon laughed. "No silly. We're partners. You understand what that means, right?"
Daniel shook his head. "No. But I bet you're going to tell me. Look, just hold on. I think this may be worth calling in sick over." Daniel got off the floor - Terriermon jumped off and floated down gracefully, giggling - and phoned into his boss. This would be a long day.
After he made the call, and before Daniel confronted Terriermon, he saw the headline on the newspaper. Some crazy people reported sights of a dinosaur creature in the south side. Large. Orange. Angry. Daniel didn't care. They had the best machines in the world, he thought, but there was no fine-tuning the human mind.

2:00am, Kyle was used to working at night. The south side had been quiet and didn't show signs of changing. News reports this morning had said that it had last been spotted around here but Kyle found himself thinking what had happened to the people that had mad the claims as he leant agains Betty. A scream is cut short. Kyle stands up straight, the hairs on his back do the same. He tucks himself against the wall and slowly moves up to the alley were the noise came from, reaching for his concealed weapon, he peers around the corner. Kyle can hardly believe his eyes. Standing one hundred meters away is a large, orange, dinosaur wearing a skull helmet with horns. It has it's back on him.The giant is looking at something, but Kyle doesn't see what it is until the monster moves...a little girl! 6/7 years old, transfixed on a glowing in her hands. Kyle scuffles into the alley way, draws up the weapon and fires a single shot. A hit! The monsters head rears as the ball bearing enters it's back but to Kyle's surprise there's no blood. Instead a steam of golden binary flows out from the hole before the monster defuses into the air. The little girls eyes are full of tears as she looks up at Kyle. "YOU KILLED MY GRAYMON!! WHAAAAA!!" She turned and ran, Kyle didn't chase her. He suddenly noticed where that scream had came from and it was best he wasn't around here either! Jumping onto the bike, he fires up Betty's engine and screeches off into the night.

2:00 Am, the LED display on Terry's watch read. He was spinning in a really dusty office chair while a computer that hadn't been on since Terry was a a baby attempted to copy files onto a flash drive. The trip to the battery factory was proving to be fruitful, Terry had found a computer with encrypted waste disposal records. Now all he could do was wait for the computer to finish its task, he would need to un-encrypt the files later to see what was on them, but if there was any clue that could help then it would be worth the loss of sleep.
Terry stopped spinning and glanced to the ajar door that lead to a walkway overlooking the factory floor. Khan had said he smelled Kapurimon and had left to collect their data. It was taking longer than Terry would like. Ever since Khan had appeared in his life Terry had actually felt more optimistic, not just that Khan could be his way out, but that anything outside of New Athens even existed. The digital world Khan had called it, nothing like New Athens or the stories of the world outside that Terry had heard. In the back of Terry's mind the fear of the possibility of there being nothing beyond New Athens had always been present. If there was nothing then Terry would try to go to the digital world instead.
Terry sighed as the progress bar on the monitor went from 98% to 99%. Finally done, Terry rolled his chair up to the keyboard and prepared to eject his drive. One last precaution, Terry dragged a file from his drive and uploaded it to the computer.
"This virus should clear up my tracks." He muttered under his breath.
Finished with his work Terry yanked his drive from the USB port and shoved it into his pocket.
"Now then," Stands up "where is that pesky kitty?"
**********************************************************************
"Just a bit closer..." Khan thought to himself. He had gone deeper into the factory and had found a kapurimon napping in a hallway and had made short work of it. Having heard voices from down the hall Khan climbed up to the top of a cabinet and waited for the newcomers.
Two more Kapurimon came hopping down the hall chattering to each other. One Kapurimon had a chipped horn while the other had a gear crudely painted on his helmet. The two came to a stop beneath Khan and glanced around.
"Where is Kapurimon? He said he would meet us here?" Said chipped helmet Kapurimon.
Gear Kapurimon rolled his eyes. "Probably fell asleep and forgot about us. Its fine we can still pull this prank without him." Gear kept hopping down the hall chipped helmet just a foot away. "This will be great you'll see. Heehee. I can't wait to see the look on-" A metallic clang interrupted Gear. Looking behind himself Gear saw a helmet with a chipped horn rolling in the hall on its side.
Gear was shocked for a moment. "H-ha, funny Kapurimon. Had me for a second, now come on out." The helmet began to disparate, blue binary floating into the air. Gear followed the binary with his eyes to see it getting absorbed into another digimon who was already positioned to pounce.
They're eyes locked and Gear starred in horror as the last of his friend's data was absorbed.
Khan starred at Gear and said "Run."
Gear was not very fast but his digital heart pounded as he hopped with all his might down the hall. Khan waited a few moments before he gave chase.
"Not very far." Gear thought "Just need to get there." Huffing and puffing Gear could hear the pads of Khan's feet hitting the ground behind him. Khan swatted at Gear but only just managed to hit him, causing Gear to tumble forward into a wall.
Gear picked himself up, now there was no where to run. Khan stood over the helpless digimon on his hind legs. He raised one of his feet over Gear. Khan's foot was engulfed in an orange aura in preparation for his attack.
"Tiger Strike!"
Gear had his eyes shut as tightly as he could for the inevitable.
"Guardian Barrage!"
A missile fired past Khan and detonated into an ajar door, sending bits of metal everywhere.
"Kapurimon, come to me." Khan looked up from his stolen prey to see who had interrupted. It was Guardromon, the machine digimon stood at the end of the hall his arm extended and already armed with another missile.
Gear rushed to Guardromon tears flooding from his eyes as his savior picked him up and placed him on his shoulder. "There, there Kapurimon. You're safe now." Guardromon said.
"Sniff, sniff. Bu-but the others... Waaaaaaaaaaaah!"
"I-I see..." Guardromon returned his attention to Khan. "What do you have to say for yourself?"
Khan thought for a moment "Later." Taking a gambit Khan dove between Guardromon's legs and sprinted through the hall to the factory floor. Explosions from multiple guardian barrages resounded from behind him. Khan could feel the heat from the blasts getting closer.
"Not very far." Khan thought "Just need to get there."
Turning a corner Khan burst into the factory floor where Terry was waiting by the entrance.
"About time, what took you?" Guardromon stomped into the factory floor another missile firing. "Oh that." Terry and Khan dashed through the factory door but were both caught in the blast of a guardian barrage. Their bodies flew threw the air and landed in the street of the abandoned district.
A metro tunnel service grate was opened in preparation of their departure. Terry stood but his knees had both taken the blunt of the fall and were now bleeding. Khan crawled to the grate small lines of binary leaked from a cut on his side. Terry slid down the ladder and jumped to the ground wincing. Khan still at the top brought the cover of the grate over his head just as Guardromon made it close by.
Too big for the hole Guardromon could only stomp his foot in anger. "I shall never forgive this act of villainy, you scoundrels! I shall find you again and seek my brother's vengeance you can be sure of that."
Khan and Terry sat in the tunnel catching their breathe as Guardromon continued ranting above.
Khan holding his side looked at Terry and said "How about we take a break from data collecting for awhile?"

"So... a digimon? A digital monster?" Daniel repeated, barely believing the words the little white dog-like creature was spouting at him. But there she was, right in front of him. It was too real to be a stress illusion. The little critter was too vibrant, too lively, and dare he say it, a little too happy to come out of Daniel Carter's imagination. It took all day for Terriermon to explain who she was, and that she wasn't the only of her kind. Digimon were running all over the city, and not all of them were good. That's why she needed Daniel to help her get more powerful. She said he turned out to be a far better tamer than the boy who originally owned her, though Daniel doubted this as much as anything else she said.
During her explanation, Daniel cooked her some pancakes for lunch. She seemed to be instantly enamored with them, and told Daniel that the meat and pills he had fed her in the v-pet were nothing compared to real food. For some reason, Daniel felt extremely guilty for putting the poor thing through all that he did in the v-pet.
"When I trained you over 50 times in one hour and you got hurt... did it really hurt you," Daniel asked, poking at his pancakes. Terriermon coughed before answering.
"Well, yeah, but then it didn't when you put the bandage on. Besides, you were trying to make me stronger! That's a good thing. Especially since we should start out first hunt today...."
"Hunt?"
"We need to get rid of those bad digimon, remember?" Terriermon asked, before inhaling another pancake. Boy could she eat.
"But.. are you so sure they're out there? Doing bad things?"
Terriermon nodded. "I heard it on the other side of the device. Other digimon are out there. And they are killing people here." Terriermon tried to sound grim, but her voice was too adorable, and anything she talked about sounded like she was describing a party.
Throughout the rest of the day, Terriermon and Daniel talked about many things. The digital world, Terrerimon's home. Daniel's home and life in New Athens. What possibly lied beyond New Athens. What they would need to do now as digimon and tamer. Terriermon revealed that she only had a hunch that they had a duty. But still - digimon had never appeared here before, so, she reasoned, they had to be there for a purpose. She didn't elaborate on the 'here' she mentioned, as she got distracted by Daniel making them dinner.
They continued well into the night. Daniel suggested they turn in, but Terriermon objected.
"It's past midnight, and no one's out. This is the perfect opportunity to find bad digimon!" Terriermon kept insisting, and Daniel eventually gave in (she was too cute for him to say 'no' to, anyway.)
And then there was an explosion. Well okay, it sounded like a shot, but Terriermon still got excited.
"We have to check it out! Even if it isn't a digimon, we can help people when the city can't!" And Terriermon took off, running down the stairs to the street. Daniel followed after, wondering how Terriermon knew so damn much about the city. And wondering what kind of future he held now, paired to her.

Terry opened the door to his home a crack and peered into the front room making sure that no one was home. Khan had already climbed into Terry's room from outside. It was still very early in the morning so his mother should not yet have been awake. The knees of his pants were torn and he smelt like oil and grime. Feeling safe that he wouldn't be caught going upstairs Terry crept into the house.
Slowly climbing upstairs on his limp Terry kept an ear for the opening of any doors, the only thing he heard was his own nervous breathing through his nose. At the top of the stairs it was a straight shot to his room, he was in with the door shut in no time. Khan was already in the closet with the door shut, didn't matter to Terry he collapsed into bed like any other night and instantly fell asleep.
It only seemed like moments later that his alarm was going off. Slamming his fist onto a small digital clock Terry sat up in bed and tried to get started. His mind was blank and he starred off into space, eventually a brain cell or two began functioning and Terry noticed that the closet was open and Khan was gone. Terry couldn't care less after the night before. He got out of his clothes hiding his torn pants under his bed and burying his shirt in his dirt laundry basket. He then went through the motions of one of his monotonous school mornings. Shower, clothes, collect school work.
When Terry made it downstairs to eat he found a note waiting for him on the kitchen table, his mother left for work a half hour before Terry woke up, it read;
"Terry, I have been worried about you lately. The dark circles under your eyes have been getting larger for the past weeks. You have been distancing yourself from others for so long. I want to get to the bottom of things with you, we are going to have a talk tonight. I love you and will see you when I get home."
Terry tossed the note back onto the table and growled under his breath. He had been dreading this since his first night out with Khan. He needed to figure out a way to reassure his mother that she had nothing to worry about. Guilt struck his mind when he remembered that she did, his knees still ached from his fall. Terry hated lying to his mother, she was the only person in the whole city that he cared for. He scarfed down some cereal and went out the door. The entire way to school he thought about different stories he could tell his mom that she would believe.
**************************************************************************************
His scar had healed up quickly but Khan still held the spot where his data had come out. He was sitting on a rooftop in a less populated part of New Athens. Most windows were boarded up and the most people he had saw had been a man rambling to himself as he walked down the street and a police droid making its rounds.
Khan layed down on his back and pulled his skull cap over his head. He couldn't get the night before out of his mind, to get from the digital world to the real world a digimon had to compress their data down to a smaller form like rookie otherwise they would never make it through the barrier separating the worlds. It made no sense that a guardromon could be here unless one of two things had happened; one, guardromon at a rookie stage had absorbed the data of other digimon to obtain champion form. Khan doubted a bleeding heart like Guardromon even would go around hunting other digimon. Or two, the digital barrier was weakening and stronger digimon were now coming through to New Athens.
Khan sat back up and pulled his cap back onto his head. "I gotta digivolve." He said out loud to no one in particular. "I can't get stomped out by some digi-punk before I can get back to the digital world. But I need data, where am I gonna get that kind of-" Khan stopped mid-sentence, he had an idea. Turning around he went to all fours and sprinted from rooftop to rooftop towards Terry's home.
"If I can't find data, I'll have it come to me instead."

Kyle entered his small apartment, sliding his tool bag across the floor and under his bunk. It had been a while since the events on the south side and so far, there hadn't been any comebacks. He thought he'd seen a guy walking his dog or something but even if he did see anything, Kyle was sure he hadn't reported anything. He slumped onto his thin mattress just as the console on the wall rang, letting him know he was receiving a call. "Answer" he yawned but all tiredness left him as the screen lit up. The transmission was weak but Kyle knew who it was. Ted stared back at him but he looked terrified. His face was bruised and he was wearing a jumpsuit, a New Athens prison jumpsuit. "I've only managed to get a one way connection here so listen close. They found out I gave the blueprints to someone, I'm being 'booted'! There's a guy, he's a teacher. You need to find him before they do! Don't come after me! They're watching him Kyle, you have to get him first...I...alot like your dad you kno...look after yoursel..." Every muscle in Kyle's body tensed as he rammed his fist into the blank screen before pulling from the wall entirely and smashing in to the floor. He sank to his knees and wept. Even after his mother died, Ted was there. The only person he had left had been ripped away and was about to be disguarded forever.
He woke up on the floor and remembered what Ted had said. He went into the corner of the room and lifted a loose floor tile, pulling a canvas bag out from a hidden hole. Reachingin, Kyle pulls out the 'Tri-gun'...

Another boring day. Thomas looked at his watch. It was the 30th time he'd done so in the last 15 minutes. He sighed. The substitute teacher was just as boring as MR. Carter. What a disappointment. Thankfully the teacher seemed to be much more interested int he blackboard than any of the students. Thomas looked down at his golden d3, containing his partner, Armadimon. Most devices had generic sprites for the creatures inside, only showing walking, standing still, pouting, or joy. But that Armadillomon spite on the screen was obviously bored. It rested it's head on one paw and lay sideways, turning his shell away from the screen. He looked like he was tanning on a beach.
'I gotcha, buddy', Thomas thought. He looked around the room. Who would be his next victim? There was a lonely girl, sitting at a desk nearby. She seemed a bit too old to be in highschool, but there she was, in the school's uniform - and she even was playing with a device. Thomas grinned. This would be easy.
-----
"Wait, Terriermon!" Daniel grabbed a backpack before running out the door, and stuffed a towel into it. He caught up to Terrimeron rather quickly, as she hadn't figured out that flying was far faster than her tiny two legs could run.
"Hide in here," he whispered. Terriermon looked at him quizzically, but ducked inside anyway. Daniel took the backpack and rested it on his shoulders. How many years had it been since he last used it, he wondered? What an odd time to think about that.
When they arrived near the explosion, Daniel was glad that he hid Terriermon when he could - police were gathering around a smoking crater that appear in the side of a building. Daniel was lucky enough to have a good vantage point down he street, in the shadows, and away from anyone else view, hopefully.
"What's going on?" Terriermon whispered from the backpack.
"Something huge must have come through here," Daniel thought. A large footprint... claw mark was near the crater. Far larger than almost any mobile machine in New Athens. How could it have hidden itself?
"Let's go, then," Terriermon said, as she began to struggle within the backpack.
"Lets go is right. Let's go back to sleep. It's too dangerous," Daniel said, and despite Terriermon scratching and punching him through the backpack, Daniel high-tailed it back to the apartment.
"Look, I know we need to get stronger," He said as he carefully lifted a still struggling Terriermon from the backpack. "But rushing into trouble isn't the right way. Let's... get some sleep. It's the weekend. We can, erm, hunt for monsters tomorrow."
Terriermon glared at him, and tried to say something, but the only thing that came out was a yawn, and then she closed her eyes, and feel back into the backpack. For the first time in what seemed like a long time, Daniel smiled.
Daniel wondered where she could sleep comfortably, though she did seem content in the backpack. But Daniel needed to show some hospitality. He took the extra blankets and pillows form his closet and placed them neatly on the couch after wiping off a few stray crumbs, and then gently lowered Terriermon onto the makeshift bed.
Satisfied with his work, Daniel crept back to his bed and feel into a dreamless and uncomfortable sleep.
When he woke up, he felt a pressure on his stomach. He smiled. Terriermon felt warm on his stomach. Maybe he could have invited her to sleep with him. But that was weird. She was an animal thingy. Like a pet. Pets slept on beds, though. So it was fine? But she was a digimon. Daniel yawned and turned over, and there was a yelp. And a scream. And the door slammed open.
"Daniel, wake up, NOW!" Terriermon demanded. Daniel opened his eyes and sat up. Though his blurry vision he saw terriermon standing in the doorway. She seemed to be looking at something next to him. He looked down. A white seal-like thing was writing on the ground, cursing loudly. Daniel wondered if he was still dreaming.

'Beep Beep Bee-'
A sharp slapping sound resounded around the bedroom, putting an end to the obnoxious beeping. With a low grumble, Valerie rolled over, away from her alarm clock, preparing to go back to sleep and hopefully continue the nice dream she had been having. However, it was not to be because small hands rested themselves on her shoulder and began shaking her gently.
"Val, its time to wake up." A gentle voice said right next to her ear.
Groaning with annoyance, Valerie attempted to swat the offender away but the small creature only giggled and hopped to her other side, continuing her shaking from there.
"Alright, alright i'm up!" Sighed Valerie, sitting up and giving her digimon partner a dark glare. "For such a cute little thing you can be pretty persistent when you want to be."
Said digimin smiled up at her innocently. "I'm only doing what you told me to do. Remember last time you did this? You ended up late for work!"
"Hmm I suppose you do make a point." Said Valerie, stretching her arms over her head. She didn't move until she heard a satisfying cracking sound from her back. She got out of bed and headed toward the bathroom, undoing her long black hair from the braid she had slept in.
Once she heard the water running, Lunamon, or 'Mim', got right to work. She headed to the closet and pulled out a smart looking dress suit and laid it on the bed, along with a matching pair of pumps. Than, she headed to the kitchen and pulled out a box of cold cereal from the pantry and serry it on the small kitchen table. She returned a moment later with two bowls and a carton of milk.
A few minutes later Valerie emerged from her room fully dressed and ready for the day ahead. "Nice choice today Mim but don't you think i'm a little too over dressed?" She said motioning toward her clothes as she sat down.
Mim shook her head with a small smile. "No way, I think it makes you look lovely!" She said, her beady black eyes shining with delight.
Valerie could only shake her head in exasperation before the two dug into their breakfast. Ten minutes later found the two at the door. Valerie held open a large backpack, "Okay, get in Mim so we can go to work."
Mim pouted a little, "Aw do I have to? Can't I walk today? I hate being in there, it makes me feel cramped."
Valerie smiled in sympathy and crouched down to the height of her partner. "Tell you what, you ride in the bag now and later I'll take you to the park."
An exited smile spread across Mim's face. "Okay!" She said excitedly before jumping into the open bag willingly. Valeting folded the top closed and walked out her apartment door and into the morning sunlight. She walked swiftly, despite the heels she was wearing as she made her way to three radio station that she worked. Mim peaked her head out of the bag a little, looking around in awe at the tall buildings around them.

Warren heard the alarm on his phone going off, he reached up to the window ledge where he had left it with one hand, bringing it to eye level he squinted at the bright screen as his eyes adjusted to the light, he tunred the alarm off and dropped the phone on the floor, making a loud banging sound on the hard floor, Warren sat up in bed, eyes half open he scanned the room, which was dimly lit as he had yet to draw the curtains, although sure enough he could see his new friend Gabumon sleeping soundly at the bottom of the bed, how on earth he managed to sleep through that racket was amazing but nonetheless he slept on, Warren went into his private bathroom, being a rich kid had it's priveledges like this, he went in and began taking a cold shower to wake him, which he then regretted halfway through as he stood there shivering, "This is the worst idea i've ever had" he said through chattering teeth, he turned the water temperature up and decided to instead have a seriously hot shower, when he emerged from the shower as the cloud of steam dissipated Warren looked in the mirror and saw what looked like a cross between him and a lobster "So that's what happens when you have such a hot shower" his mother had never allowed him to turn the heat in the shower above a certain level, he remembered her scolding him when he was caught trying to turn it up one time, he smiled and laughedd to himself a little, then tears welled up in his eyes as he thought about how he'd never see his mother or father again but he fought them back proclaiming that today was the start of Warren 2.00 the new and improved Warren, he looked at himself in the mirror sighing "Sure I can say all that when it's just me but in front of anyone else, No way" He heard a voice from his side "Well I thought it was exciting" Warren gasped loudly "Ahh!, Gabumon you were listening" Although somewhat impossible Warren managed to turn redder than before "Umm, uhh, what exactly did you err, hear?" Warren asked frantically. Gabumon then proudly announced "That today's the day we see Warren 2.00! I can't wait!" She said with a great big smile on her face unaware that Warren was practically dying from embarrassment. "Anyway, would you mind leaving while I get dressed" Gabumon chuckled, nodded and then left Warren to ready himself for the day. Warren looked down at his wrist on his right arm, checking the watch his father had given him for his birthday last year, luckily it was waterproof so he'd never have to take it off and then put it back on again everytime he took a shower "What The! Just how long did I spend in the shower! Now i'm going to be on-time!" Gabumon stuck her head in the doorway "Did I just hear you right?" Warren looked at her "Yeah, I always go to school early, unless I'm not well enough to go in" Gabumon shrugged her shoulder "ookay" she said as she went back outside Warren dried himself off and thought for a moment 'I can be a little late, right?' he casually pulled on his school uniform but today instead of making his uniform look as neat as possible like he usually would and tying his tie with a windsor knot he instead made no effort to his uniform and made a simple four in hand knot for his tie, he wore his usual satchel bag hanging from his left shoulder and resting on his right hip. "Gabumon you're gonna have to stay here today, I'm not sure how I could explain there being a digimon following me around, you can watch TV or something while i'm out just don't leave this room okay?" "Okaay!" came her reply "You promise?" "Promise!" Warren sighed, somehow she didn't seem all that convincing, he left his room closed and locked to door and proceeded to his first class of the day

Kyle sat and waited, Betty's engine popping as it still cooled. Then he saw it, the last person left the school as it began locking itself up and switched off lights at random. Kyle bolts to the nearest wall, shimmys himself along and kneels at the front door. Reaching into his pocket, he pulls a single hairpin from it, inserting it into the buildings lock system he turns it...CLICK...the hairpin snaps! "Okay, plan.B" he grunts pulling tape from his pocket. A minuet and a half later a small crack echos out as Kyle pulls the taped, shattered window from it's frame. He's in!
"A school at night?" He questions his own logic after searching five or six class rooms. What did he think he'd find? A Moriarty type character waiting for him to tell him all the answers before they both died? This wasn't a story! He turns to walk back out of the room but stops as he notices a figure in the hall way. Kyle's first reaction is to grab the gun but his instinct begs him to look closer. His hand stops inside his jacket, the silhouette is to small to be a man...it's a child, but in his haste to distinguish one figure Kyle misses the other approaching him. "Get him!" The hooded boy's lips curl as an armoured dog rolls itself into a ball and launches itself at Kyle's chest. Winded, Kyle stumbles backward as the creature lashes at him with long, cold claws. He fires a shot into the ceiling with blind hope but hits nothing, afew seconds after the golden machine in the boy's hand shrieks making he creature do the same. "Hmmph, c'mon let's get outta here!" the boy high tails with his accomplice. Kyle chuckles blood as he remembers where he learnt about magnesium filings being able to disrupt electronics...in this very room! "Thank you science!" he smiles, drifting off into forced sleep...

Kyle winced as he rammed his shoulder against the solid wall of his apartment, forcing the ball joint back into the socket and giving him the use of his left arm again. He'd slipped out of the school via window aftet the school nurse had woken him with a shrill scream and had managed to crawl back to Betty, who had carried him home. Kyle stood at the basin and looked into the mirror to assess the damage. Most seemed to be scratches and grazes, but among them where three deep gauges. Kyle picks up a sewing needle threaded with thick cotten and with his bottom lip between his teeth, begins to push the steel through the flesh of his open wound. He tried to concentrate himself on the lady's voice on the radio. He wondered if her face matched her voice. Soft but strong, serious and sweet. Something about her accent reminded him of his mother and Kyle often made a point of listening to her show as often as he could. After he cleans himself and the sink he walks to wardrobe and opens both doors.
Kyle pulls on the last piece of the only suit he owns and tops it off with a dark lensed pair of aviators. He takes a deep breath before leaving the small room and jumps onto Betty's back.
After a short ride, Kyle arrives at the memorial building. He leans his bike on her stand and enters. Inside, the pews are almost empty, save a few spots where some of Ted's superiors actually bothered to show up. Kyle takes a seat at the back and listens, hiding his wet eyes behind the sun glasses. After ten or twenty minuet the main speaker asks if there are any next of kin to collect unclaimed belongings. Kyle waits before standing up and walking down the aisle with heavy steps, making the over dressed policemen look around in puzzlement. The main speaker says nothing as he hands Kyle a box, topped with a portrait of Ted, but unsurprisingly, the frame doesn't bare the usual 'diamond'. He stares at the policemen as he walks out, making sure to stare daggers though there pupils and directly to the brains. "Remember me" he silently demands them...
