Around the time I first got Digimon Unlimited, a friend of mine suggest I doodle my Digimon as they grow. S oo I decided I'd do just that.
It would be boring if I just drew them as is, so I will try and switch up their body shapes and facial features from time to time, that way they're more interesting, and if I ever have to draw more than one of the same Digimon, they will look different. I prefer simplistic designs, and have a simplistic art style, so you may notice some Digimon might not be as detailed as their official designs, but I hope you'll enjoy my drawings anyway.
I'll try and post no less than three things at once, and I'll come back to the first post too, so everyone can see all of the art in one post without browsing through the whole thread.
DIGIMON
These are the digimon I've raised so far, but there are more, albeit in an older format that I'll include in this post.
ANDROGOCHI
I was also able to get androgochi after nearly a month of abusing Apptrailers for enough credit to buy a google play card. I'm taking a different approach with Androgochi. I pick a color, and base the artwork completely on the pixel ( maybe getting a little creative ), incorporating that color into every step. Even if I end up raising the same kind of monster, it will be a different creature every time I draw it. I'm NOT treating Androgochi like they were Digimon, but something new. It's going to be a fun little exercise seeing what I can come up with every time Androgochi changes. I'm still learning about Androgochi, as I imagine you all are. Anyway, here we go.
OLD DIGIMON
When I first started this project, I was only drawing Digimon based on what their pixels look like to me. Then I would look at official artwork to decide how to color it, and possibly make one or two small modifications. I drew in thick binary because it fit with the digital monster motif in my opinion, although I think a better solution was putting down the semi-transparent grid you see in the pictures above.
OLD DIGIMON 2
At this point, I got a new style. I started to stick to the official artwork a little more closely but still try and make it look more like it's pixel. I also made the lines thinner and the backgrounds lighter. I re-drew some of them in this style.
As you may have guessed, if you don't see anything beyond a certain form, that Digimon has likely died. The only Mega I have managed to get was Neptunemon. Anyway I hope you enjoy my art, hearing you're thoughts is appreciated.
