Doesn't matter if u force close a lot. How many years before it dies on you? Is it possible that a digimon won't die? And if u start off with egg again, ur training stats are all reset? Does anyone backup their powerful digimon just to restore it after it dies, and not have to train all over again?

Technically forever as long as you take care of it.

Wow, a lot of questions.
It's completely possible that ur dg won't die, as long as u can save it from dying.
I think it's a bad idea to allow the players to keep their trained dg for so long, as they can't be beaten by new players. Same goes for restoring died dg from backup. I really want these to be solved in the coming future.

Sent from my HTC6525LVW using proboards I really don't have a problem with either of these things, in fact they are part of what I think makes this digimon app great, like a digivice lol. I wish we could partition a jogressed digimon into it's earlier form, I'd play around with Omegamon once in a while if I could get WarGreymon back without data restore.

your digimon can basically live forever if you want it to.
thing is people don't play it the true way and use/abuse 2 things that makes it super easy for digimon to live long 1)force close 2)backup
@rhivana if you just make digimon have randomly short lives and die quickly no matter what, you are just making it unfair for the people that despite their schedule/lives, actually play the game truthfully and took care of their digimon properly without resorting to the above methods.
btw even if your digimon die they and their training lived on as digimemories. which can be used to battle with and boost the winrate of your new digimon. trouble is each digimemory can only be used once a day unless you abuse certain tricks again...

I'm pretty sure they can keep on living, but I generally don't have mine live past 20 days. There's so many other digis I want to raise, so I keep going for new ones. They CAN die if you have too many care mistakes, but once they reach Mega that means basically leaving them alone for several days.

One solution is to make rookies battle only rookies, mega vs mega, ultimate vs ultimate, etc. That will make sure it's fair for the most part as everyone will have the same amount of time to train, not mentioning those who force close of course.

I don't mean that at all. In fact, I've suggested limiting how many times a tamer can save his dg from dying after evo fail, depending on the amount of care miss. If the tamer gives a better care to his dg, he can save his dg for few more times.

i was saying this 2 years ago and ill keep saying it... this needs to be SERVER BASED so no forceclose no nothing, the only thing i can agree with its that u could change the schedule of ur digi like once a week, for instance now im working on a nightshift and my digi WILL DIE NO MATTER WHAT in the hours im sleeping and he isnt. I was forced to forceclose and change manually my phone time and i dont like it, forceclose is a devious and cheaty way to play this.

I don't have a problem changing your phone time because let's face it, we are all waaay busier than we were in the 90s.
Axi, please ignore the edit I made to your post. I tried quoting you and ended up editing it. :$ I fixed it though.

I think it's fine to force close and stuff. There's nothing much we can do about that. I'd rather keep the data usage of the app to a minimum. As long as there is no way to blatantly cheat by being too powerful without actually putting in the time to train, that's good enough progress for now. I'm not hardcore to the point I keep my digimon running in the background 24/7. I'll still force close when I don't feel like paying attention to it or I'm too busy.

So you should be happy that Bulzipke actually decided to make the app server-based eventually. I'm also happy to see that Titanium Backup which can be used to prevent evo fail and death will not work anymore at that time. But just wonder what will happen to time zone change tricks.
