"What just happened?" Dorumon asked.
After a moment of contemplation Tom and Arkadimon had dashed away, leaving Tristan and Dorumon behind.
Tristan bit his lip "I think... That Tom is becoming more like a computer program. The way he talked was so mechanical, he probably still has bad intentions but-"
"That wasn't what I was talking about." Dorumon growled. "Why didn't you let me fight Arkadimon?"
Tristan was taken aback "You saw what they did to Jace and Greymon, I couldn't let you fight."
Dorumon pouted "You didn't even give me a chance. I could ha-"
"No Dorumon." Tristan said sternly "You would not have stood a chance, Arkadimon is way too powerful even if you had gone ultimate. We got lucky, the only reason Tom left us alive is most likely because he thinks he can still recruit us. We will not be as lucky next time. Our only chance is to get our next crest and meet up with Jace at the world seed."
Dorumon's ears and tail drooped "But-"
"No buts, we have to hurry, we're on our own now. If we waste anytime it could mean life or death."
The two stood in silence until finally Tristan took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, the stress is getting to me. I'm scared, I just want to get to the world seed but first we need that crest. Right now we don't stand much of a chance against anything. Come on, we should get as far as we can until nightfall."
Tristan turned and began the trek through the mountains. Behind him Dorumon slouched and followed, whispering to himself "But I am strong."

Gotsumon tumbled down a cliff hitting the crag below. Ignoring the pain in his leg he jumped up and kept running. There was only one place he would be safe, he thought to himself, if he could just outrun this thing to the temple he would be safe. He leapt over a small chasm trying to remember the way, he could hear the thundering steps behind him. Diving into a crack in the mountain wall he waited, hearing the booming sounds behind him he waited. Several minutes passed and it sounded like the beast had passed over him. Breathing a sigh of relief Gotsumon crept from the crack, he examined his surroundings and found them to be familiar. Dusting himself off he began to walk in the direction of the temple.
A rock fell down the opposite cliff side startling Gotsumon, he looked to the sounds source but saw nothing. Laughing at his own jumpiness he turned back to the path, and was met with a large claw. The claw raised the screaming Gotsumon to the maw of a dreadful beast. Gotsumon begged for his life but hi8s pleas fell on deaf ears.
The screams stopped and then their was only binary. The beast raised his head to the digital sky smelled the air, swished his tail and slowly lurked towards his goal.

"Its just a little bit away now." Tristan said.
Tristan and Dorumon were airborne now Dorumon having digivolved into Dorugamon. The two had made excellent time and would soon be touching down to where the next crest was.
Dorugamon nodded and asked "As soon as we get it we go to mega right?"
"We can sure try." Tristan replied "But it might not work instantly."
Dorugamon snorted "It will, I know it will."
Tristan scratched his head and sighed "You gotta be patient Dorugamon, not everything can be- Gyaaa!"
Dorugamon had gone into a dive just narrowly avoiding a ball of fire.
They stabilized and Tristan was clutching Dorugamon's fur for dear life "Wha-what was that?"
Another fireball whizzed past them. Dorugamon growled "I dont know but we're going to find out."
Dorugamon pulled into a U-turn and flew straight at the source of the attack. Tristan digivice still out got a good look at their opponent and recognized it instantly from the games back home. His digivice read "BIRDRAMON".
Birdramon surprised by Dorugamon's sudden maneuver halted in mid air sent more fireballs flying from its wings. Dorugamon in his dash to get closer got grazed by one leaving singed fur and making him cry in pain. In retaliation Dorugamon fired a metal sphere from his mouth which whizzed through the air making impact into Birdramon's chest. Birdramon cried in agony and fell several yards in the air, Dorugamon took this as his chance and shot after Birdramon claws barred. Birdramon manged to recover and flipped itself through the air talons extended. The two digimon tumbled through the air claws locked and jaws snapping.
Tristan meanwhile tried his best to hold onto his partner, but steadily his hands began to slip until Birdramon made a snap at Dorugamon's wing causing him to jerk sending Tristan falling. The tops of mountains were near and Tristan fell towards the solid rock below. Dorugamon instantly realizing what had happened released his claw's from Birdramon's and tried to dive to his tamer, only to have Birdramon swoop onto his back and dig its talons in. Pain shot through his system and binary leaked from his back as they fell, Birdramon landed them on a cliff and pressed its talons in deeper.
Dorugamon's sight began to blur, he could still hear Tristan's screaming in the distance, then the screaming stopped abruptly. Dorugamon's eyes shot open, Birdramon had stopped digging into his back and instead prepared a finishing blow. Fueled by pure rage Dorugamon ignoring the pain in his back leapt into Birdramon pining it to the ground. One foot pressing into its chest Dorugamon began charging a power metal blast aimed at Birdramon's head.
"Dorugamon stop!"
Dorugamon hearing Tristan's voice raised his head and looked for his tamer. Birdramon taking its chance pushed against Dorugamon's foot and raided into the air for another attack.
"Birdramon cease this at once." Said another voice.
Dorugamon found the source to come from a large black dog, its body armored and large claws extruding from its paws. Riding on the dog's back was Tristan still alive.
"Cerberumon," Replied Birdramon "good you're hear I found-"
Cerberumon growled at Birdramon "You're a fool, do you not realize what you nearly did?"
Birdramon perched on a cliffside scowled "Yes, I was about to-" Birdramon choked up seeing Tristan on Cerberumon's back "Is that a-a human.?"
Cerberumon nodded
"Then that means that this one is his partner?"
"You're catching on." Cerberumon said with anger
Birdramon caught with fear turned to Dorugamon and began bowing profusely "My-my apologies sir, I thought you were the beast. Forgive me please, I was in error."
Dorugamon looked at Birdramon with confusion. Cerberumon nodded "Please come with me, I havemuch to tell you."
Dorugamon growled. "Just why should I trust you?"
"I am Cerberumon, keeper of these mountains and Guardian of the digicrest of reliability. Now please, follow."

The scene before Drews' faded to black before he relived some of his oldest memories and most treasured, picture this. Drew sat in the garden with his mother in their summer home in Italy, just the two of them, Drews father had taken his younger brother with him on a business trip. Drew was somewhat of a mommies boy, his mother was the complete opposite of his father, she was warm, kind, caring and full of such an endless love of all things, she was fascinated by so many things, especially astronomy and the inner workings of the earth, even though she loved these things neither of these was her job, she was a computer programmer and she had a whole team working under her command, they were tasked to create bio-digital life forms for experimentation, which would later be used to heal humans and cure currently I curable diseases or even re-grow lost limbs, however her research was shut down after a certain incident, they managed to successfully create a life from however it was highly unstable and hardly anything was known about it, they had it contained in a specially made holding cell but it seems some of the people who made the cell cut corners to save money and as a result the creature got out. It hunted down the people who had worked on the program. It had left Drews' mother until last, they were supposed to leave the summer house the next morning and head back to England, however this monster had other ideas, Drew woke up in the middle of the night after having a nightmare and went into his mothers room, little did he know the true nightmare awaited him inside, he saw this huge monster with claws and sharp pointed teeth, it was skinny and grotesque like someone hadn't fed their dog in months. It was holding Drews' mother by the throat. Drew tried to let out a scream but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't his throat just seized up every time, only allowing a small whimper, the monster whipped it's head around, staring at Drew with malicious eyes, it walked slowly toward Drew, slinking from side to side as it took each step, dragging his mothers lifeless body in its one hand along the floor trailing behind it, it reached into the air and went to swat at Drew with its claws which would've torn him to shreds had it not been for a mysterious light which appeared between Drew and the monster. The monster squealed at the light before it took off, smashing through a window, taking Drews mother with it. Drew full of fear and unable to do anything else at his young age, simply fell to his knees head in his hands crying. The light felt warm on his face, a voice came from the light "you're not ready yet, but someday we'll meet again, in my world, until then Drew good bye" Drew was found the next day when the cleaner came in and found the whole house a mess and heard Drew crying in his mothers room, she took Drew outside and called the police, Drew told them what had happened and as a result Drew ended up in therapy, when Drew was in the police station they contacted his father who replied saying that he was too busy with business, leaving Drew to fly back to England on his own, before he left he packed his bag with as many of his mothers books as he could and all he did for months after her death was sit in her study and read, it made him feel closer to his mother, but in secluding himself he started becoming like his father, cold and calculating, after a small shock to the system about how he was acting, he realised that by becoming his father he was disgracing his mothers' memory, deciding to be true to himself he stopped pretending to be this cold hearted person and began to care again, as was his true nature. Just like his Mother.

The village was an odd sight, built into the side of a mountain on platforms Tristan was expecting to see bird digimon like Birdramon. However what he was met with was a menagerie of different digimon species, Tristan recognized Elecmon, Koromon and even a strange Guardramon or two. as they entered the village digimon cleared the path for Cereberumon. Most ran into the carved out caves and peered out staring out at the group and murmuring among themselves. Tristan assumed that they were looking at Cerberumon but he noticed that most of the digimon were actually staring at him and Dorumon, some were even glaring at them with disdain.
The group at last made it to the uppermost part of the village, nearly at the top of the mountain stood a giant temple. The entrance was guarded by two large Golemon both staring into the distance blankly. Cerberumon glanced to Birdramon.
Birdramon nodded and turned to Tristan and Dorumon "I bid you farewell for now tamer, This is as far as I go."
"But why?" Tristan asked
Cerberumon answered "Only the tamer, their partner and a guardian may enter."
Birdramon nodded his wings drooping, looking at Cerberumon he looked as if he was going to say something. Cerberumon replied first "You have always been loyal old friend, you've grown to a strong warrior."
Birdramon tensed up only managing a "Thank you."
At first Tristan was confused but he then remembered what had happened to all of the past crest guardians.
"Please," Cerberumon said "let us not waste any time." and he entered the temple. Tristan and Terry followed, passing the immobile Golemon and leaving a grieving Birdramon.
As they entered the temple a stone door closed behind them leaving them in solitude. Tristan was unsure what to say, Dorumon however had questions.
"Cerberumon... Those digimon back there the way hey looked at us-"
Cerberumon interupted "I am afraid you have come at an inopportune time."
Dorumon blinked confusedly "Why? Whats happening?"
Cerberumon stopped in the hallway in front of a large tapestry. "Did you notice the strange mixture of digimon in the village?"
Both Tristan and Dorumon nodded.
"They" Cerberumon explained "are refugees, their villages were all destroyed. Countless digimon slaughtered..."
Tristan and Dorumon both clenched and said in unison "Tom!"
Cerberumon shook his head "No, I am aware of the menace of the corrupt tamer but his hand is not in this." Answering to the questioning looks on Tristan and Dorumon's faces Cerberumon went on. "Countless years ago, before many digimon's codes had even been conceived there were vastly fewer species of digimon digivolution was a mystery even to the species that exsisted, each tribe sought ways to further their digivolution besides with age. Some tried to merge the data of digimon, some tgried fighting to become stronger, some did terrible things. Then..." Cerberumon paused "There was one tribe that came close; The Dorumon tribe."
Dorumon stared intently at Cerberumon and the guardian took this as cue to continue. "The Dorumon that had lived on this very mountain had discovered a way, by combining many ores into token items and absorbing the data of much stronger foes they found a way to surpass their champion forms that only elders achived and reach another plane of power. This 'Ultimate' form as they called allowed them to reach power at nearly a whim, this earned them the respect of many other tribes and the technology to achieve ultimate form was shared to the other tribes. There was balance and relative peace among the civilized digimon, this did not last."
Breathing deeply Cerberumon continued "One Dorumon... Became selfish, drunk off of his own lust for power he stole many of the tokens and killed their carriers. He was found out but it was too late, the tokens would not work for him like they were his own. Instead his data was twisted and he was morphed into a fearsome beast. he lost his mind was driven by nothing else then hunger for power. No Dorumon survived his wrath, neither did any other digimon that stood in his way. Dorugoramon as the legend referred to him made his way to the center of the digital world, hungering for the unlimited energy of the world seed. All hope was lost, but then..."
Cerbeerumon motioned to the tapestry, the image on it was of thirteen figures all stanging in a circle, in the center was what looked like a sphere. Cerberumon continued "The Royal Knights appeared, as if sent by the digital world itself they stood as the guardians of the world seed. They battled Dorugoramon and won, sealing him away into a place called the Dark Area. The Royal Knights were celebrated as heroes, over the centuries they protected the digital world. Appearing whenever they were needed, then one day they disappeared entirely. None remain that know why they left us,it was assumed that the digital world no longer needed their protection, yet they left the digicrests. Items to be used by chosen ones when the time came, I can still remember that day that Alphamon gave upon to me-"
Cerberumon shook his head "This is no time for my own story, there is little time. The reason you have come at an inopportune time is because, as i am sure you have guessed" The Dark Area has opened. Dorugoramon is free. He has destroyed dozens of villages already and is making his way to us now."
Tristan stared in awe of the tale Cerberumon had told. "But," Tristan asked "I thought Dorugoramon was after the world seed? Why is he coming here?"
"Memories, vengeance, curiosity perhaps even under orders. We do not know why, all we know is that he must be stopped." Replied Cerberumon.
Dorumon still trying to comprehend the history of his ancestors stuttered "B-but why is this an inopportune time? If I can get the crest, then I can digivolve to my next form and fight Dorugoramon."
Cerberumon sighed "The denizens of these mountains have always counted on me, besides the guardian of the digicrest I am also the protector of these digimon. They are frightened by the prospect of my leaving them, I as well am frightened to leave them. But I cannot wish to face Dorugoramon and win, if you had come earlier then perhaps they would have had more time to come to terms with my absence. As it is Dorugoramon is a few days away most likely less."
Tristan felt his stomach tie up in knots "I-I'm so sorry."
Cerberumon laughed "There is no need. I have known this day would come for a very long time. Now come, the time grows late."
Cerberumon continued down the hall, Tristan and Dorumon silently following. Dorumon watching the ground was deep in thought. What only seemed like seconds to him later he was bumping into Tristan's leg as they entered the crest chamber.
Cerberumon stood by the pedestal that had the crest "I am Cerberumon, as guardian of the crest of Reliability I give upon you this crest. As the guardian of these mountains I beseech you Tamer one last request."
Tristan nodded gulping.
"Please defend these mountains and the digimon that live here." Cerberumon said
Tristan nodded "I will."
Cerberumon bowed his head to Tristan signaling for him to take the crest. Tristan looking down at the light blue crest thought of the responsibility that came with it, it weighed down on him but he lifted the crest from its stand.
Almost instantly Cerberumon began to fade, looking once more to Dorumon he said "It is a miracle in more ways then one that you stand here today. Please, I ask with a heavy heart, stop Dorugoramon and reclaim your tribe's honor."
Dorumon took a deep breathe "I will."
Cerberumon closed his eyes as the remainder of his body vanished into the air.

"...Now what do we do?" Dorumon asked looking to Tristan.
Clenching the crest in his hand Tristan nodded "We keep our promise to Cerberumon." Tristan placed the crest of reliablity into his digivice alongside the crest of hope "We don't have much time, we need to get ready for Dorugoramon. We need the mountain digimon to trust us, we need to train and we need to perfect mega."
"All in a few days and still make it to the World Seed? You're making his way too easy." Dorumon chuckled.
Tristan cracked a smile "I hope it is. C'mon we should go and see if Birdramon can help us with the digimon."
The two exited the chamber but before leaving Tristan turned back to the pedestal and whispered "Thank you." into the empty room.
