I don't see why you'd have a reason to. Most people myself included frown upon this but it's not exactly hacking.

I learned how to change the tamer code, the letters and number like [12ab] and i was wondering if its bad to change it in ethical way While it doesn't affect the battle result at all, I think changing id may cause trouble amoung tamers as someone can pretend to be another tamer by copying id. I suffered from this before that the copycat cursed others with my id. And I consider changing id as a sign of app data editing as well.

It could be useful for self jogressing though.

It could be useful for self jogressing though. Changing id by editing the file may not be useful at all for self jog, as it seems to change only the 'apparent' id. If 2 dgs with the same 'actual' id are online at the same time, both of them will disconnect from the server. While when my id got copied, I could be on server at the same time as the copycat did. Though I know how to change actual id randomly for self jog, I have no idea whether there's an way to make a desired id at the same time really changing it.

Sucks when people miss use it though.

To me, having a special id is meaningless and then one will get a chance to abuse others.
