TWO SIMPLE STEPS ONLY MAKE SURE ITS EVO FAIL ALREADY!!!!
1) IGNORE IT COMPLETELY. Dont even feed it, do anything to it (not even battle). let the poop accumulate.
2) When the time comes for your digimon to sleep (lets say for example 10 pm), JUST BEFORE IT SLEEP CHANGE YOUR PHONE TIME FROM PM TO AM.
The point is not to let your digimon sleep. If you notice it only becomes hungry or poops when it is awake.
(this will not work if your phone keeps killing off the DU app)
just follow this 2 steps. Rookie and below would easily die within a day or less, while well trained champion and above would probably take 1, AT MOST 2-3 days to die.
FAQ i) what about overfeeding pills? ans: usually does not work unless you have been mistreating your digimon (ie.make care mistakes) for a long time.
ii) what about losing a lot? ans: does not work if your win rate is already too high. (actually i think it would work if you collect too many "skulls" within a day. Untested)

someone go raise a zero trained champion with evo fail and see how many times it last against pokeak/taeyeon/ds-iamsoso/ds-red/aofeiyun before it died.

the two steps are based on strong experiment evidence so they WILL work, but you must do both together.
not entertaining other simple "anecdotal" evidence until someone comes up with more experiment proofs

When my DexGorugamon evo failed, I couldn't bother with care misses already so I kept waking it up without turning the lights off first for QR scans. Then once I accidentally overfed it and it went into dying mode.
My guess is that after evo failed, your digimon may die if you accumulate too many care miss. I recall that PokeAK's video on killing digimon also said the same thing - he overfed his digimon once on the video and it immediately died and he said he has accumulated lots of care misses prior making the video.
Maybe I suggest you guys can try to experiment this if you want to kill your digimon now: turn your device to your digimon's sleeping time and keep waking it up. Score say 6-10 care misses via this method, then go battle server and keep losing and over feeding it with pill. I believe it will die faster you can think.

it makes sense for care misses to contribute to faster death. the first step actually is meant to do that, rack up the care misses. however the problem with your method is that u made your digimon SLEEP...if u keep waking it up its going to keep going back to sleep no matter what
however go to battle server to lose is not meant for those with well trained digimons...u find u will still win a lot lol...so losing to hasten death is not really an option for people with very strong digimon.
so best is still: 1)make TONS of care misses (best to just leave it alone) 2)dont let it sleep 3)after 2 days still no die->overfeed pills

Haha.. Might worth a try

My previous Imperialdramon with decent training and 0 care miss just refuse to die even though he lost consecutively to DS clan members and Poke.

Mine is a Peckmon that well trained also, maybe because it was a champ, it dies easly.
